WHY STAY AT THE LOOKOUT?
Three words – location, location, location. Perched on the De Kelders cliffs, this apartment has magnificent views over Walker bay to Hermanus and the Overberg mountains, and the best views of the whales in season.
The Lookout is also perfectly positioned to explore the beautiful and multi-faceted Overberg, play golf, enjoy the local wine routes and experience shark cage diving.
Unlike many holiday rentals, this apartment has been decorated and equipped to feel like a home-from-home with all the small touches that make for a very comfortable stay.
The Lookout at Whale Cove is perfectly positioned on the Walker Bay Marine Reserve seafront, with nothing to to obstruct your sweeping sea and mountain views.
De Kelders lies on the famous Whale Coast of the Overberg region in the Western Cape, 3km from Gansbaai and 50 km from Hermanus. Apart from exploring the surrounding natural beauty, the apartment is well positioned to explore the Western Cape.
WHO SHOULD STAY?
The Lookout is best suited to guests who want a relaxed, self-catered coastal stay while having easy access to everything the Overberg has to offer - fynbos, wine farms, golf courses, historical towns and the marine Big Five (whales, sharks, dolphins, seals and penguins).
It is a more restful option than the busy pace of Hermanus, and has better whale watching (a well-kept secret!).
For guests who are keen to see plenty of whales in season, there's no better situated balcony in De Kelders than the Lookout's!
This spacious 140m² apartment includes an open-plan kitchen/dining-room/lounge and a separate TV alcove. The large balcony has dining for six people, 2 sun loungers and a large gas barbecue.
The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge/freezer, hob and oven, a microwave, a dishwasher and any equipment the casual or gourmet cook might require.
The three bedrooms are fitted with carpets, high-quality mattresses, Egyptian cotton linen, built-in-cupboards, wall heaters and electric blankets for winter. The main bedroom en-suite has a shower and a king-size extra-length bed. There is a second bathroom with a combined bath/shower.
